Giving Thanks ------ergo> Thanksgiving
In celebration of the holidays I would like to take the time to over look the annoyances in life and appreciate what blessings I have. So it may come off as the obvious but I really am thankful for everyone in my life --- my family and friends may be nut cases but ironically enough they are what keep me sane. My family has built me into the person I am today, and I honestly wouldn't exchange that for anything. They were the first to teach me love and have been there ever since. As far as friends go they may not be blood but they definitely have had to see me through my worst. When I wake up at 7 AM, or have yet to go to sleep (you know procrastination), and have the daily headache, they are the ones waiting with a fist full of excedrin and nothing but sheer love. They're not afraid to tell me, "Yeah you're dressed like a homeless man...but you have a nice face." They accept my flaws and are aware that my brain to mouth filter is not on tap. They keep me humble and honest. We tell our family members we love them daily but I think we often leave the appreciation for our friends unsaid, so here we go. I am proud to say you freaks are my heroes and I love them. Everything thing you do makes me a better person, and reminds me why life is great.
Lastly I am thankful for the life I get to live. I have a roof over my head and shoes on my feet, not to mention a smart phone and an endless amount of useless crap, and often I overlook just how blessed I am. Don't get me wrong there have been struggles, and at times the valley of darkness seem eternal, but trust me at the top of the mountain the light outshines any troubles I may have faced. And at the end of the day, life is pretty good.
Have a happy holiday --- and know that someone out there is thankful for you.
